English name: Gypsum Decoction
Component: Gypsum(shi gao), Radix Scutellariae(huang qin), Rhizoma Coptidis(huang lian), Cortex Rhellodendri(huang bai), Herba Ephedrae(ma huang), Semen Sojae Praeparata(dan dou chi), Fructus Gardeniae Jasminoidis(zhi zi)
Function: Clears heat, relieves toxicity, induces sweat, and releases the exterior.
Clinic Usage: This formula treats injury from cold in which heat blazes in the interior while the exterior condition still lingers. Symptoms include strong fever but without sweating, a sensation of heaviness and tightness, dry nasal passages, thirst, irritability and insomnia, loss of consciousness, delirium, a rapid, uneven pulse and/or skin blotches.
