Component: Radix Rehmanniae Glutinosae Conquitae(shu di huang), Radix Dioscoreae Oppositae(shan yao), Fructus Lycii(gou qi zi), Fructus Corni Officinalis(shan zhu yu), Radix Cyathulae Officinalis(chuan niu xi), Semen Cuscutae Chinensis(tu si zi), Colla Cornu Cervi(lu jiao jiao), Colla Plastrum Testudinis(gui jiao)
Function: Nourishes the yin, and tones the kidneys.
Clinic Usage: This formula primarily treats the true yin deficiency. Symptoms include light-headedness, vertigo, soreness and weakness in the lower back and legs, spontaneous and nocturnal emissions, dry mouth and throat, spontaneous and night sweats, thirst, a shiny tongue with no coating, and a thin, rapid pulse.
Cautions: Taking this formula over a long period of time may cause spleen and stomach deficiency. Spleen nourishing herbs like Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae (chen pi) and Fructus Amomi (sha ren) may be added.
