English name: Stabilize the Menses Pill
Component: Plastrum Testudinis(gui ban), Radix Paeoniae Lactiflorae(bai shao), Cortex Phellodendri(huang bai), Rhizoma Cyperi Rotundi(xiang fu), Radix Scutellariae(huang qin), Cortex Ailanthi(chun gen pi)
Function: Enriches the yin, clears heat, stops bleeding, and stabilizes the menses.
Clinic Usage: This formula treats deficient yin (water) and belligerent yang (fire). Symptoms include continuous menstruation or uterine bleeding that alternates between trickling and gushing of blood. The blood is very red and may contain clots. Accompanying signs and symptoms include abdominal pain, dark urine, a red tongue and a rapid, stringy pulse.
Cautions: This formula is primarily for profuse menstruation caused by yin deficiency.
