English name:	Pinellia Decoction to Drain the Epigastrium

Component:	Rhizoma Coptidis(huang lian), Rhizoma Pinelliae Ternatae(ban xia), Radix Scutellariae(huang qin), Rhizoma Zingiberis Officinalis(gan jiang), Radix Glycyrrhizae Uralensis(gan cao), Radix Ginseng(ren shen), Fructus Zizyphi Jujubae(da zao)

Function:	Harmonizes the stomach, directs negative qi downward, disperses clumping, and eliminates focal distention.

Clinic Usage:	This formula treats stomach qi disharmony. Symptoms include epigastric focal distention, fullness and tightness with very slight or no pain, dry heaves or vomiting, diarrhea, and a thin, yellow, and greasy tongue coating.

Cautions:	This formula is for epigastric and stomach disorder caused by the cold-heat complex in the middle burner.
