English name:	Bupleurum Decoction to Reach the Membrane Source

Component:	Radix Bupleuri(chai hu), Fructus Immaturus Citri Aurantii(sheng zhi ke), Cortex Magnoliae Officinalis(chuan hou po), Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae Viride(qing pi), Honey-fried Radix Glycyrrhizae Uralensis(zhi gan cao), Radix Scutellariae(huang qin), Radix Platycodi Grandiflori(jie geng), Fructus Amomi Tsao-ko(cao guo), Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae(chen pi), Ramulus Nelumbinis Nuciferae(he ye geng)

Function:	Transforms phlegm and dampness, and penetrates to the membrane source.

Clinic Usage:	This formula is for phlegm-dampness obstructing the membrane source characterized by focal distention and fullness in the chest and epigastrium, irritability, dizziness or vertigo, cough with sputum that is difficult to expectorate, intermittent fever and chills, a thick, foul, pasty tongue coating, and a wiry, uneven pulse.

Cautions:	This formula is often used for alternating strong fever and chills caused by damp-heat.
