English name: Rhinoceros Horn and Rehmannia Decoction
Component: Cornu Rhinoceri(xi jiao), Radix Rehmanniae Glutinosae(sheng di huang), Radix Paeoniae(bai shao), Cortex Moutan Radicis(dan pi)
Function: Clears heat, relieves toxin, cools the blood and dispels blood stasis.
Clinic Usage: This formula treats irregular blood circulation caused by heat disorder. Symptoms include blood expectoration, nosebleed, blood in the stool or urine. Also there may be thirst with an inability to swallow, chest pain, abdominal distention, black and tarry stools, delirium, some purpura and a scarlet tongue with prickles.
Cautions: This formula treats the later stage of a heat disease. It primarily treats disorder caused by heat entering the blood level.
