English name: Jade Maiden Decoction
Component: Gypsum(shi gao), Radix Rehmanniae Glutinosae Conquitae(shu di huang), Tuber Ophiopogonis Japonici(mai men dong), Radix Anemarrhenae Asphodeloidis(zhi mu), Radix Achyranthis Bidentatae(niu xi)
Function: Drains heat from the stomach and nourishes the yin.
Clinic Usage: This formula treats stomach heat with yin deficiency. Symptoms include irritability, fever, thirst, headache, toothache, bleeding of the gums and a red tongue with a yellow coating. It also treats wasting and thirst syndrome, and symptoms such as frequent hunger and emaciation.
Cautions: This formula is contraindicated in cases with diarrhea.
