English name: Warm the Spleen Decoction
Component: Radix et Rhizoma Rhei(da huang), Radix Lateralis Aconiti Carmichaeli Praeparata(fu zi), Radix Ginseng(ren shen), Rhizoma Zingiberis Officinalis(gan jiang), Radix Glycyrrhizae Uralensis(gan cao)
Function: Warms and tones the spleen yang and purges cold accumulations.
Clinic Usage: This formula is for spleen cold from deficiency with accumulation of cold characterized by constipation, or chronic red-and-white dysenteric disorders, abdominal pain, cold extremities and a wiry, faint pulse.
Cautions: This is a typical formula for warming the interior. It treats the cold accumulation caused by spleen deficiency or chronic dysentery. Do not use this formula if symptoms are not caused by spleen deficiency.
