For diarrhea due to damp-heat in the gastrointestinal system, dysenteric disorder, vomiting, high fever due to febrile disease, irritability or impaired consciousness and delirium. Can also be used for ulcers, boils and toxic swellings.

For headache due to wind-heat or damp heat, coughing due to heat, stench smell in the throat, wheezing, jaundice, heat in the blood, vomiting, nosebleeds, bloody discharge, red, swollen and painful eyes, acute mastitis and lumbodorsal cellulitis. For the treatment of respiratory disease and acute bronchitis, use with Cortex Mori Radicis(sang bai pi).

For injury from cold and warm-febrile disease. For treatment of symptoms such as headache, stiff neck, irritable, thirst, diarrhea, dysenteric disorder, measles with incomplete presentation of rash, hypertension, angina pectoris and diminished hearing.
