English name:	Lycium Fructus

Where grown:	West China.

Source:	Dried, ripe fruit of Lycium chinense MILL.

Ingredients:	Zeaxanthin
Pharmacological effect:	1) Effect on blood pressure: the herbal extract can lower arterial pressure in rabbits' necks. 2) Effect on lipid metabolism: an inhibiting effect on the increase of cholesterol and phospholipid (induced by carbon tetrachloride) is seen after feeding the herbal extract to large white mice for 18 days.
