English name:	Fleshy stem of cynomorium

Where grown:	Northwest China.

Source:	Dried leaf of Cynomorium songaricum Rupr.

Ingredients:	Anthocyanin

Properties:	Sweet, warm

Channels entered:	Kidney, spleen, large intestine

Function:	Nourishes kidney, moistens intestines, strengthens yang and tones vital essence.

Major Clinic Usage:	For impotence, weakness in the lower back and knees, nocturnal emission, and weakness in muscles and joints due to deficient vital essence and blood.

Cautions:	Contraindicated in cases of yin deficiency, excessive yang symptoms, diarrhea due to spleen deficiency, and constipation due to excessive heat.

Usage and Dosage:	5~9g.
