Where grown:	Throughout China.

Source:	Dried body of Hirudo nipponia Whitman.

Ingredients:	Protein, Hirudin

Pharmacological effect:	Can be used as an anti-hemagglutinin.

Properties:	Bitter, salty, neutral, slightly toxic

Channels entered:	Liver

Function:	Breaks up and dispels blood stasis.

Major Clinic Usage:	For blood stagnancy, amenorrhea, mass in the abdomen and traumatic injuries.

Cautions:	Contraindicated during pregnancy.

Usage and Dosage:	3~6g. To take in powders, 0.3~0.5g per dose.

Storage:	Store in a dry place.
