Source: Iron disulphide, a brassy yellow mineral crystallized in the cubic system.
Ingredients: FeS2, FeO(OH)
Properties: Acrid, neutral
Channels entered: Liver
Function: Promotes reunion of fractured bones, dispels stasis and relieves pain.
Major Clinic Usage: Heals knife wounds, broken bones due to falls, fractures and painful blood stasis.
Cautions: Contraindicated in cases of yin deficiency with strong fire signs and blood deficiency missing stasis.
Usage and Dosage: 3~9g. Primarily in pills or powders. If to use in decoctions, the mineral should be cooked before adding to decoctions.
Storage: Store in a dry place. Protect from dampness.
