Source: Dried secretion of Moschus moschiferus L.
Properties: Acrid, warm
Channels entered: Heart, spleen
Function: Unblocks channels, dispels stasis and reduces swellings. Can be used as an stimulant.
Major Clinic Usage: For stroke due to phlegm retention, epilepsy, abscess in abdomen, toxic swelling, immobile, palpable masses, hastens delivery and facilitates the downward passage of stillborn fetuses. Can also be used as an antiseptic and to relieve toxicity.
Cautions: Contraindicated during pregnancy.
Usage and Dosage: 0.03~0.1g. Generally in pills and powders. Proper amount for external use.
Storage: Keep tightly sealed. Store in a cool, dry place. Protect from light, worm infestation and dampness.
