English name:	Climbing fern spore

Where grown:	South and central China.

Source:	Dried spores of Lygodium iaponica (Thunb.) SW.

Properties:	Sweet, salty, cold

Channels entered:	Bladder, small intestine

Function:	Clears heat, relieves toxicity, induces diuresis and treats stranguria. This is a major herb for stranguria treatment.

Major Clinic Usage:	For urethral infection, urethral calculus, swelling and distention due to damp heat, nephritis, edema, enteritis, dysentery, eczema and painful, swollen throat.

Usage and Dosage:	6~15g. Wrap with a cheese cloth before decocting.

Storage:	Store in a dry place. Protect from dampness.
