| Pharmacological effect: |
1) The extracted petroleum ether in low density can stimulate peristalsis of heart, intestine and uterus in frogs and mice, and can present inhibiting effect if in high density. 2) With active ingredient palmitic acid, small dose can promote breathing, large amount presents paralyzing effect and significantly expands pulmonary vessels. 3) The herbal extract can reduce induced muscle contraction in frogs. Hypodermic injection of the extract can also reduce blood sugar content and serum calcium density. 4) Coixenolide can prevent ulcer and lower blood pressure. |
