English name:	Artemisia Herba

Where grown:	North China.

Source:	Dried young shoot of Artemisia capillaris Thunb.

Ingredients:	Capillene, Capillarin, Scoparone, ß-Sitosterol, Capillin, Vanillin, Hydroxyachillin, Esculetin
Pharmacological effect:	1) Abdominal injection of the herbal extract in rabbits can increase bile secretion. 2) This herbal decoction has relaxation effect on choledochus sphincter in pigs. 3) Extracted oils have inhibiting effect on reflex movements in mice. 4) Oral injestion of capillin can increase bile secretion in mice.

Properties:	Bitter, acrid, slightly cold

Channels entered:	Spleen, stomach, liver, gallbladder

Usage and Dosage:	6~15g. Proper amount for external use. Rinse with herbal decoctions.

Storage:	Store in a dry place.
