Tetracyclic Triterpene, Alisol A, Alisol B, Alisol A Monoacetate, Alisol B Monoacetate |
| Pharmacological effect: |
1) Diuretic effect - intravenous injection of the herbal extract through ear showed diuretic effect in rabbits. Hypodermic injection or oral ingestion showed no such effect. Abdominal administration of herbal extract showed increase in urination. 2) Fatty liver resistant effect - feeding mice with 5% mixture of this herbal powder with mice food showed inhibiting effect on liver fat accumulation. Choline and lecithin can also eliminate induced lipemia in mice. 3) Cholestorol resistant effect - alisol A monoacetate can significantly lower induced cholesterol. |
