Where grown: Throughout China.
Source: Dried leaf of Nelumbo nucifera GAERTN.
Ingredients: Nuciferine, Roemerine, Nornnciferine, dl-Armepavine
Properties: Bitter, neutral
Channels entered: Liver, spleen, stomach
Function: Clears summer heat, dispels dampness by diuresis, stops bleeding and dissipates stasis.
Major Clinic Usage: For dizziness, edema, dysentery, abdominal pain, blood expectoration, nosebleeds, vaginal discharge, blood in the stool, postpartum bleeding, lochioschesis due to traumatic injuries, unable to surface rashes and severe headache with pounding sensation in the head.
Usage and Dosage: 3~9g. 10~30g if fresh leaf is used. 3~6g for carbonized leaf.
Storage: Store in a dry, well-ventilated place. Prevent from worm infestation.
