| Pharmacological effect: |
1) Anti-microbial effect: has inhibiting effect on Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus dysenteriae, choleragen and gonococcus. 2) Effect on blood pressure: intravenous or intraperitoneal injection to anesthetized animals resulted in obvious and lasting effect on lowering blood pressure. 3) Anti-inflammatory effect: this herb demonstrated anti-inflammation function most effectively in the lab test with fertilized ovum. With 50% of the herb extract, the granulation formation can be inhibited. 4) Improves healing of wound: external use of the herb healed contusion, pustulated wound and non-tuberculous ulcers effectively. 5) Others: the herb extract can temporarily elevate then lower blood sugar. It can also stimulate the secretion of bile and pancreatic juice. Alkaloid has inhibiting effect on intestinal and uterine peristalsis in rabbits. |
