English name:	Golden buckwheat rhizome

Where grown:	South China.

Source:	Dried rhizome of Fagopyrum cymosum Meissn.
Ingredients:	Alkaloid

Properties:	Bitter, neutral

Channels entered:	Lungs, heart

Function:	Clears heat, relieves toxicity, clears lungs, resolves phlegm, strengthens spleen and helps digestion.

Major Clinic Usage:	For pulmonary abscess, coughing, painful, swollen throat, distended abdomen with reduced appetite and thinning due to infantile malnutrition.

Usage and Dosage:	15~45g. Steam in a tightly closed cooker with water or wine.

Storage:	Keep tightly sealed and store in a cool, dry place.
