| Pharmacological effect: |
1) Anti-pathogenic effect: has inhibiting effect on various pathogenic bacteria. 2) Anti-bacterial effect: intraperitoneal injection of the herbal extract obviously relieved the intoxicated symptoms induced by Pseudomonas aeruginosa in rabbits and significantly reduced their mortality. 3) Anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effects: injection of the herbal extract effectively controlled edema in toes induced by fresh egg white and Halidrys siliquosa in mice. 4) Cholagogic and liver-protection effects: the profuse chlorogenic acid ingredients provided such effects. 5) Effect on lipid: oral ingestion of the decoction can lower cholesterol in blood. 6) Hemostatic effect: major ingredients chlorogenic acid and caffeine can effectively stop bleeding, increase blood coagulation and shorten bleeding time. |
