| Pharmacological effect: |
1) Ulcer-preventive effect: the herbal extract, matrine and oxymatrine have significant preventive effect on gastric ulcer in mice. 2) Effect on central nervous system: matrine has treatment effect on skeletal muscle similar to that of curare. It can also have anti-trichomonal property. 3) Flavanones can reduce ventricular fibrillation induced by chloroform in mice. It can also prevent irregular pulse induced by chloroform, adrenaline or aconitine in rabbits and mice. |
