Where grown: Northeast, north and central China.
Source: Dried fruit of Forsythia suspense Vahl.
Ingredients: Forsythin, Carotenoids, Oleanolic acid, Rutin, Betulinic acid, Forsythiaside
Pharmacological effect: 1) Diuretic effect: oleanolic acid has urination promotion effect. 2) Anti-anaphylactic effect: the herbal extract can reduce the liberation of anaphylactic antigen on intestines significantly in mice.
Properties: Bitter, slightly cold
Channels entered: Lungs, heart, gallbladder
Function: Clears heat, relieves toxicity, reduces edema and dissipates clumps.
