Where grown:	Northeast and north China.

Source:	Dried rhizome of Rhaponticum
Ingredients:	Volatile oil

Properties:	Bitter, cold, slightly toxic

Channels entered:	Stomach

Function:	Clears heat, relieves toxicity, reduces carbuncles, swellings and induces milk secretion.

Major Clinic Usage:	For swollen, painful ulcers, acute mastitis, milk blockage and stagnancy and other blockage due to pathogenic heat.
Cautions:	Use with caution during pregnancy.

Usage and Dosage:	5~9g.
