Ingredients: CaSO4, 2H2O
Pharmacological effect: Lab experiments proved that the herb decoction can quench thirst and has an antipyretic effect.
Properties: Sweet, acrid, strong cold
Channels entered: Lungs, stomach
Function: Drains fire, relieves muscle, benefits qi and generates saliva.
Major Clinic Usage: For high fever due to febrile disease, irritability, loss of consciousness, delirium, thirst, wheezing due to heat in lungs, spontaneous sweat due to summer heat, strong fire in the stomach, headache, toothache, excessive heat toxin, boils or skin lesions that won't heal, profuse pus in the skin lesions, eczema and burns.
Cautions: Contraindicated in cases of stomach or spleen with cold deficiency, blood deficiency or fever due to yin deficiency.
Usage and Dosage: 15~60g. Use in decoctions.
