| Pharmacological effect: |
The herb solution is antimycotic, has hemolytic reaction and can cause local excitation. |

Sweet, bitter, salty, slightly cold |

| Function: |
Nourishes yin, diminishes fire, calms irritability, quenches thirst, relieves toxicity and moistens dryness and intestines. |

| Major Clinic Usage: |
For thirst and eruptions due to febrile disease, consumptive fever, constipation due to fluids injury, swollen, painful throat, carbuncles, swellings and scrofula. |
| Cautions: |
Contraindicated in cases of dampness in stomach and spleen and loose stool due to spleen deficiency. Do not use with Radix et Rhizoma Veratri(li lu). |
