| Pharmacological effect: |
1) Effect of lowering blood sugar: oral ingestion of the watery extract has the effect of lowering blood pressure in lab animals. These animals presenting glycosuria were either induced by allozane or had insulin antiserotonin. It can also reduce ketone in the blood in mice. Alcoholic extract does not have such effects. 2) Antipyrectic effect: reduces fever induced by Bacillus coli in rabbits. 3) Others: can lower blood pressure, paralyze respiratory central system, inhibit heart functioning, is antiseptic and has hemolysis effect on red blood cells.
