Ingredients: Arecoline, Arecaine, Arecolidine, Guacoline, Phenylalanine, Proline, Stearic acid, Capric acid, Catechin, Procyanidin, Arecatannin
Pharmacological effect: 1) Intravenous injection of arecoline can stimulate brain stem and activate cortical brain wave in cats. 2) Active ingredient Arecoline can contract intestinal smooth muscle, increase peristalsis of intestines and contract smooth muscle around pupil.
Properties: Bitter, acrid, warm
Channels entered: Stomach, large intestine
Function: Reduces accumulation, kills parasites, assists in attaining sobriety, helps digestion and expels phlegm, promotes urination, dispels wind, drains qi from stomach and directs it to move downward.
Major Clinic Usage: For treatment of food stagnation, abdominal pain, diarrhea, tenesmus, beriberi, edema and phlegm stagnation. It can also reduce stagnant mass, kill roundworms, and help excretion of irregularities from intestines.
Cautions: Contraindicated in cases of spleen deficiency and/or loose stools.
Usage and Dosage: 3~9g. 30~60g to expel nema and fasciolopsis.
