English name: Hairy birthwort
Where grown: Central and north China.
Source: Dried rhizome or whole plant of Aristolochia mollissima Hance.
Ingredients: Alkaloid, volatile oils, sugar
Pharmacological effect: Has the effect of preventing arthritis and tumor formation.
Properties: Acrid, bitter, neutral
Channels entered: Liver
Function: Dispels wind-dampness, unblocks channels and alleviates pain.
Major Clinic Usage: For damp arthralgia due to pathogenic wind-cold, numbness of the limbs, muscle spasm and traumatic injury due to falling, contusion and other accidents.
Cautions: This herb can also be used for toothache and stomach ache.
Usage and Dosage: 10~15g
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place.
