English name:	Cornus Fructus

Where grown:	South and central China.

Source:	Dried, ripe fruit of Cornus officinals Sieb. et Zucc.
Ingredients:	Morroniside, Loganin, Sweroside, Iridoid glycosides, Tannins, Isoterchebin, Tellimagrandin, Cornusiin, Urosolie acid, Tartarie acid
Pharmacological effect:	1) The herbal decoction showed effects of antihistamine, acetylcholine resisting and barium chloride resisting in mice's intestines. It also had an inhibiting effect on motor center of rabbits' intestines. 2) Oral ingestion of the herbal extract has an anti-anaphylactic effect in rabbits.

Properties:	Sour, astringent, slightly warm

Usage and Dosage:	6~12g
