English name:	Sichuan fritillary bulb

Where grown:	West and central China.

Source:	The dried bulb of Fritillaria cirrhosa D. Don.

Ingredients:	Fritillaria cirrhosa D. Don, sipeimine, fritiminine, beilupeimine, chinpeimine, sonpeimine, verticine, fritillarine

Pharmacological effect:	Has effects of alleviating coughing, expelling phlegm, lowering blood pressure, elevating glucose, relaxing intestines and stimulating uterus.

Properties:	Bitter, sweet, slightly cold

Channels entered:	Lung, heart

Function:	Transforms phlegm, clears heat, moistens lung and dispels stasis.

Major Clinic Usage:	For coughing due to external contracted virus, swollen and painful throat, pulmonary abscess, a stifling sensation in the chest, painful rib cage, diarrhea and abdominal pain. Helps expel phlegm and pus.

Cautions:	Do not use with Radix Aconiti(wu tou).

Usage and Dosage::	3~6g. 1~2g to use in powders.

Storage:	Store in a dry, well-ventilated place. Protect from worm infestation.
