Where grown: South China.
Source: The leaf of Aloe vera L. var chinensis (Haw.) Berger.
Ingredients: Aloinoside B, Alesin, Aleson
Pharmacological effect: 1) Laxative effect: may be caused by ingredients other than barbaloin aloin. 2) Effect on peptic ulcer: an inhibitory effect on peptic ulcer by preventing the formation of histamine. 3) Effect on large intestine: will cause congestive effect on the intestine and organs inside of pelvis.
Properties: Bitter, cold
Channels entered: Liver, stomach, large intestine
Function: Clears heat, unblocks the bowels, expels parasites, cools liver and improves eyesight.
Major Clinic Usage: For constipation due to accumulated heat, childhood epilepsy, infantile malnutrition, accumulation of parasites, pathogenic skin diseases such as ringworm and tetter, hemorrhoids, nasal catarrh, scrofula, hepatitis and gallstone.
Usage and Dosage: 2~5g. Use externally with proper dosage. Apply powder to the wounds.
