Where grown: North and south China.
Source: The leaf and rhizome of Cephalanoplos segetum (Bge.) Kitam/ C. setosum (Bieb.) Kitam.
Ingredients: Alkaloid
Pharmacological effect: Stops bleeding.
Properties: Sweet, cool.
Channels entered: Heart, liver.
Function: Cools blood, stops bleeding, relieves toxicity and reduces carbuncles and toxic swellings.
Major Clinic Usage: For reckless movement of hot blood and symptoms such as coughing with blood, nosebleeds, blood expectoration, blood in urine, blood in the stool, and skin lesions caused by heat toxicity.
Usage and Dosage: Use internally for bleeding, externally for skin lesions. 10~15g of dried herb. Double the dosage if using fresh herbs. Use proper dosage to apply externally.
Storage: Store in a dry place.
